What does justice look like when it comes from the marginalized? When law and God have failed you?

MOTHER COURAGE AND HER CHILDREN

FALL / 2024
THEATER: SCENIC DESIGN

How does long term warfare shape daily lives? We’re constructed toward end that  doesn’t support survival.

The play follows the fearless Mother Courage as she struggles to earn a living with her wagon in a war-torn landscape. Incorporating the songs, the play exposes the harsh truth that war preys on the vulnerable and how its destructive effects endure over time. As each child confronts the dangers, the play keeps asking, "Why war?" – urging us to reflect on how greed and power fuel this ongoing destruction and its heartbreaking consequences.

What appears refined and noble is often built on something hidden: filth, guilt, and unresolved pasts.

An idealistic Student is drawn by the sinister Old Man, Hummel, into entering a luxurious aristocratic household. Once inside, he encounters a nightmarish social world shaped by family secrets, mutual blackmail, inherited guilt, and moral decay. As the young woman he loves withers away and dies, the Student comes to see the mortal world as corrupt, finding possible peace only beyond it.

THE STEAM MAN OF THE PRAIRIES

SPRING / 2026
EXHIBITION

“The Steam Man of the Prairies” takes its name from an 1868 dime novel, a human-machine hybrid crossing the Western frontier.

Alongside this, I looked to the monumental bodies of Mobile Suit Gundam, where machinery extends human desire:

to overcome
to become

Scaled beyond the human, yet shaped by it, what shifts? The world or the self?

Perhaps we remain in between
Crossing not arriving
