THEATER: THEORETICAL
SCENIC DESIGN
Incendies follows twins Jeanne and Simon as they carry out their mother Nawal’s final request: to find the father they thought was dead and the brother they never knew existed. Their search leads them into Nawal’s past, uncovering a life shaped by civil war, exile, prison, sexual violence, and silence. The play becomes a journey through inherited trauma, asking how history survives inside family, memory, and the body.
IMMERSIVE THEATER ADAPTATION
Written by WAJDI MOUAWAD
Family history becomes a map of war, silence, and inherited violence.
The stage becomes an excavation site, where private rooms, prison cells, and landscapes of war collapse into one shared architecture of memory.
