PIXEL CITY

WINTER / 2019
EVOLO SKYSCRAPER COMPETITION

Pixel City is an urban design proposal that responds to housing shortages and inefficient land use in dense cities. Focusing on Hong Kong, the project questions the idea of space as permanent private ownership and reimagines it as a temporary, shareable resource that can shift according to people’s needs.

The proposal breaks high-rise buildings into movable pixel-like modules that can assemble, separate, and relocate throughout the city. By transforming fixed architecture into a flexible system, Pixel City creates temporary communal spaces and a changing cityscape where housing, work, and public life can adapt over time.
